Target Prerequisites

Before applying to join, you need to:

  • Install the Shibboleth target software as described in the deployment guide at http://www.switch.ch/aai/docs/shibboleth/internet2/1.2/deploy-guide-target1.2.1.html. During installation you can either follow the procedures below to join the SDSS federation as part of the initial setup or begin with a free-standing (localhost) setup that is not part of a federation and then reconfigure it afterwards.   • Obtain an X.509 certificate, as described at GetCertificate. The same certificate may be used for both an origin and a target.

Once you have installed the software and obtained a certificate, please send us your application in the form described at JoinFedTarget.
