Joining the SDSS Federation
To apply to join the SDSS federation, follow one of the two procedures below, depending on whether you are applying to join as an Identity Provider (IdP, previously "origin") or Service Provider (SP, previously "target"). You may do both, in which case it may be easiest to start as an identity provider and test that against existing service providers before configuring your own service provider.
Shibboleth 1.3: The procedures described below assume that you are using version 1.2 of the Shibboleth software. If you are contemplating using version 1.3, please read ShibV1d3 first.
